1st annual Critter-K *

Dear Friends of the Flanary Vet Clinic,

We would like to take this time to thank you for your support and participation in the 1st annual Critter-K benefit for Creatures Great and Small that was held Saturday, September 15, 2007.  We had over 350 people in attendance with approximately 500 pets in tow.  One couple even showed up with their Alpaca!  Another woman walked with two lizards, one on each shoulder!   It was truly a sight to see when everyone set off walking down the road, people together with their animals in their determination to help the pet rescue organization be able to continue on with their work in the community. We had absolutely beautiful weather and great fun. After the walk the owners and their pets browsed through the rooms in the clinic picking up brochures about weight loss, nutrition, internal and external parasites, zoonotic diseases, in house lab testing, spay and neuter benefits, senior pet care, feline and canine diseases, dental care, vaccinations and micro chipping. They also indulged themselves with the free giveaway items. When the party was over, the pets left for home sporting their colorful bandannas, their owners garbed in their new t-shirt carrying bags stuffed with treats and goodies for both themselves and their pets. A good time was most definitely had by all.

Creatures Great and Small adopted out a few pets but more than the actual adoptions themselves, this event will help to spread the word of their work throughout the community allowing countless more pets to be saved.  All in all, we were able to raise close to $4,000. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for all of your contributions, allowing to make something that means so much to me a reality.  We have already started planning our 2nd annual Critter-K getting even more animal lovers involved. We hope to see you next year again with your support.
 Thanks for showing you care.
